UK Integrated Online Tariff

Tariff Stop Press Notice - 31 October 2024 Further Update

New Footnotes to be added to Northern Ireland Quotas.

New Footnotes to be added to Northern Ireland Quotas:

On 30 September 2024, HMRC introduced new Northern Ireland quota pots to enable importers to access certain UK tariff rate quotas when they import sheepmeat, poultry and beef into Northern Ireland from certain countries outside the UK and EU. Further information on how to access these Northern Ireland quotas is available here: Moving Rest of World sheepmeat, poultry and beef to Northern Ireland - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) alongside a full list of the relevant UK and Northern Ireland quota order numbers and commodity codes which relate to this introduction.

These quotas are currently missing footnotes in the online trade tariff to clarify their use. This will be rectified as soon as possible; in the meantime the text is provided below. For further information or clarification please contact NItariffquota@hmrc.gov.uk

For all new (introduced September 2024) Northern Ireland beef, poultry or sheepmeat quotas where the corresponding UK pot is licence based (i.e. where corresponding UK pot starts with 054):

Footnote text: For imports into Northern Ireland only. You must provide a valid UK licence number - use document code L001in Data Element 2/3 and follow the references of messages, document, certificates and authorisations guidance for the information you’ll need to include.

For all new (introduced September 2024) Northern Ireland quotas where the corresponding UK pot is First Come First Serve:

Footnote text: For imports into Northern Ireland only.

For all UK beef, poultry or sheepmeat quotas that have a new (introduced September 2024) corresponding Northern Ireland quota pot:

Footnote text: For imports into Great Britain only.
