Sanctions against Russia
The UK has introduced additional trade sanctions against Russia. The sanctions on imports of goods originating in or consigned from Russia have been extended to cover additional commodity codes within Chapters 71 and 91 (710210, 710231, 710239, 710421, 710491, 7113, 7114, 711590, 711620, 9101).
Limited exemptions to import prohibitions may apply for:
- Goods subject to a contract signed before 15 December 2023, with a DBT Import Licence (9011)
- Goods with a DBT Import Licence (9011)
- Goods not subject to sanctions (9022)
Where an exception does NOT require an import licence, please declare “9022”. Please note a Kimberley Process certificate is not an acceptable alternative to an import licence.
For full details, please consult Russia sanctions guidance and Notice to Importers for a link to the sanctions legislation and up to date advice on the sanctions and any exemptions and conditions that may apply to your goods.
